Super Torch Ritual

Reader AIA highlights a short film titled “Two Distant Strangers” (trailer) recently released on Netflix on April 9th…

…seemingly “whispering” to “STR” (= Super Torch Ritual… you know, us!) with the strange “STR Angers” logo in the poster.

We would have just shrugged and moved on… if it weren’t for the fact that this short film is all about a time loop.

The film examines the deaths of Black Americans during encounters with police through the eyes of a character trapped in a time loop that keeps ending in his death. The film won the award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.

A time loop and racial tension… Very STR indeed.

Multicontextually this hints at the issue of race being part of history’s time loop (extra-historical time injections)… which I was already uncomfortably aware of and something we may have to focus on more in the near future. The same goes for previously discussed Total Recall with very “German” (Austrian) Schwarzenegger, Mr. Terminator (time traveler), experiencing a planetary awakening on Mars which is inseparable from the time loop.

So on and so forth. (We’ll get to “Stowaway” just released on Netflix soon.)

But… can’t help but wonder. Who has STR “angered”? ????????‍♂️
