A huge, deadly crash – called the “big one” – occurred during an Indycar race in the US precisely when Comet Elenin was flying by Earth. And by precise, we are here talking within 1-2 minutes, if not seconds. Essentially simultaneous.

As I quipped around that time: “Unmistakable, but humans being humans, no one else seems to have noticed such a big signal. Elenin delivered its impact, and people were looking up at the sky wondering why nothing was happening. It’s like a silly cartoon scene.”
The driver killed, Dan Wheldon, flew through the air like a comet before impacting the wall.
Wheldon had won the biggest race, Indianapolis 500, several months earlier that year (2011) which made the tragic incident even more notable.

But you may be wondering, why are we talking about this now?
Because the crash – the “Deep Impact simulation” tied to Comet Elenin – happened in Las Vegas. Not only that…
Dan Wheldon was – as he gave himself this label – “Lionheart“… as in Regulus the heart of the lion (Leo)!
The October 1st (2017) mass shooting in Las Vegas began precisely when Regulus was crossing the meridian there and the massacre unfolded right in front of a terrestrial Leo, the Luxor hotel sphinx.
What are the chances that both “deep impact” events in Las Vegas happen to have strong “lion heart” associations?
Dan Wheldon likened himself Richard the Lionheart, the 12th-century British warrior king, and often wore his image on the back of his helmets.
“When I first started racing, a lot of the guys said that I raced with a lot of heart, occasionally not my head, but always with a lot of heart, like the way that Richard the Lionheart fought in battle,” Wheldon wrote on a sponsor’s blog in 2010.
Wheldon placed a small mural of the 12th-century warrior king on his helmet in 1995, before he competed in America, and eventually released “Lionheart,” a biographical photo book.

In addition to the uncanny simultaneous timing, there was another major “coincidence” linking Comet Elenin to Las Vegas. It was pentagonal geometry…
Comet Elenin had it like this:
Las Vegas has the exact same pentagonal configuration underlying its latitude (36 degrees N.)!
Plus, Las Vegas Motor Speedway where the “Deep Impact” crash took place is located on North Las Vegas Boulevard which happens to be angled precisely 36 degrees from the East-West line.

Could the apparent parallel help us expand our understanding of the current situation in the aftermath of the Vegas massacre in October 2017 and beyond?
There are at least two things that might…
First, Elenin was something of a “Comet Lucifer” as we called it back then due to the comet’s geometric interaction with Venus. A few weeks after Elenin’s “pentagonal” Earth flyby, Venus became the morning star or “Lucifer” following its inferior conjunction (Earth-Venus-Sun) on October 29, 2011… right at the same pentagram apex along Earth’s orbital path marked by Elenin, like this:
The date resonates with one of the windows we are watching closely around Halloween this year which has some “Deep Impact” implications…
And Venus is currently in its “Lucifer” (morning star) phase which will continue until early next year.
Dan Wheldon also had a “Lucifer” association via a fellow Indycar driver Danica:
Second, the date of Comet Elenin’s closest approach itself – October 16th – closely coincides with the upcoming “Great American Occultation” of Regulus by the Moon on October 15th (tomorrow/Sunday). Recall that Dan Wheldon the “Lionheart” (= Regulus) was the winner of Indianapolis 500 in 2011 and “Indiana” is “In-Diana” or “In the Moon”. A Regulus occultation (“death”) by the Moon therefore has strong resonance in this particular multicontextual framework.
There is at least one significant event scheduled for October 16th that we already know of. A major announcement by astronomers looking into gravitational waves – basically a spacetime “tsunami” – will take place on Monday and speculations as to what the “unprecedented” discovery might be include a neutron star as the source of one of the gravitation waves instead of black holes.
You may recall the initial discovery of gravitational waves back in February 2016 – which some called the most important breakthrough in modern science and would go on to win the Nobel Prize – had powerful multicontextual implications interacting with the passing of David Bowie and such. Chances are, the Force is strong with the new discovery as well.

Here is how I was able to determine the simultaneous timing of Comet Elenin’s closest approach and the Indycar crash in Las Vegas on October 16, 2011. Originally written in 2011:
First, according to NASA’s ephemeris for Comet Elenin, in the “delta” column (which is the distance between Earth and Elenin) you can see a minute-by-minute distance which reaches the lowest/closest point at “19:53” Universal Time (Greenwich/London), October 16, 2011.
That translates to 12:53 pm PDT (Las Vegas local time) or 3:53 pm EDT (New York/Washington time). We’ll use the latter…
After reading my (original) post in which I asked for help finding the exact time of the crash, reader Stephen swiftly found what I was looking for, or at least a major clue… He found a tweet with a time stamp viewable via mouseover. It was obviously reporting on the massive crash and was tweeted at “3:53 PM” (EDT) – the exact time of Elenin’s closest approach…
The timeliness of this Twitter account’s reporting can be verified by a later tweet in which he mentions Wheldon being airlifted. The time stamp says “4:20 PM”…
This is important because we know the precise time of the helicopter leaving, widely reported in many news articles, and it was 1:19 pm PDT or 4:19 pm EDT. Just one minute difference, demonstrating the almost simultaneous nature of the guy’s tweets during the race.
And so we can reasonably assume that the crash also took place within just a minute or two before the “Massive wreck” tweet at 4:53 pm EDT. For all intents and purposes the moment of Comet Elenin’s closest approach to Earth! […]
Now, just to make sure, we can go and check with IndyCar’s own official Twitter… which first mentions the Vegas crash at 3:56 pm EDT…
…just three minutes after Elenin’s close encounter. We can’t imagine IndyCar’s official Twitter account being slow in reporting the crash, so clearly the crash must have happened a few minutes before 3:56 pm. And the aforementioned “F1grid” tweet coming in earlier at 3:53 pm, we can safely assume that the crash time must have been 3:51-53 pm EDT.
Can’t get more precise than that. Simply put: The IndyCar crash in Vegas happened at the precise moment of Comet Elenin/Lucifer’s closest approach to Earth.
