When it comes to things Mayan, it’s the Pleiades, not Sirius, that take the celestial center stage… [h/t reader Matt].
The cluster of stars known as “The Pleiades” – also known as the Seven Sisters or M45 – is one of the nearest star clusters to our Earth, being around 400 light years away, and also one of the most photogenic. You can easily spot them with the naked eye, even in the city. The cluster contains about 3000 stars, of which only a handful are commonly visible to the unaided eye. The brightest stars of the cluster are named for the Seven Sisters of Greek mythology, daughters of Atlas and Pleione. In Greek, the word “pleiades” means doves. Pursued by Orion, they were rescued by Zeus, who immortalized the sisters by placing them in the sky. […]
For the Maya and the Aztecs of Central America, the Pleiades was the most important constellation in the sky.

It was the “midnight culmination” of the Pleiades, not the heliacal rising like with Sirius, that held the most significance for these ancient people in America.
The moment in November when the Pleiades reach their highest point in the sky at midnight, the midnight culmination, was especially significant. Every fifty-two years when the Maya’s sacred and secular calendars once again came into coincidence, this midnight culmination of the Pleiades was a moment of particular dread and the signal for horrific human sacrifice. The fear was that the sun would not return.

The dark implication is rivaled by the Pleiades making a very brief, “subliminal” appearance in the movie Knowing at a very doomy moment [video clip] (h/t reader Matt)…
…all about an extinction-level event in the form of a solar “super flare”…
…echoing 2012, a “Mayan” movie all about an ELE actually caused by the Sun…
…starting in the year 2009 in the story which happens to be the exact year both 2012 and Knowing were released.

2012 was released in mid November coinciding with the Pleiades peaking in the night sky culminating around midnight…

Yearly, on or near November 21, the Pleiades cluster culminates – reaches its highest point in the sky – at midnight. (In this instance, midnight means midway between sunset and sunrise.) Historically, the midnight culmination of the Pleiades was very significant to many ancient peoples. Some of these Pleiades midnight celebrations still linger into the present, such as the old Druid rite of Halloween. Although the midnight culmination date for the Pleiades advances over the long course of time, the date of Halloween has remained fixed by tradition.

Now, the above excerpt says “November 21” but there is an alternative date just as valid – November 16.
Both are equally valid thanks to what is known as the “Equation of Time”, a discrepancy between astronomical time (or sundial time) and clock time caused by the Earth’s axial tilt and imperfectly circular orbit around the Sun which results in the Sun’s position drifting back and forth relative to our clock time throughout the year. The difference peaks around early November, coinciding this year with the US presidential election coming up on November 3.
Using a sundial the Pleiades has its midnight culmination on ~November 21. Using a mechanical clock the Pleiades has its midnight culmination on ~November 16.
As noticed by reader James, it was precisely on November 16 (1977) that Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind was released prominently featuring Devil’s Tower…
…where epic Contact takes place.
Devil’s Tower along with bears is directly associated with the Pleiades in Native American tradition! (H/t readers Matt and Harcourt).

And it’s a monolith…
…thus again implying Contact, as in “the year we make contact”…
…and resonating with the Beirut explosion on August 4th…
…or the day before the date specified in the 2019 movie Portals (trailer) featuring “monoliths”…
On August 5th 2020, an undisclosed research facility successfully creates the world’s first active black hole…Shortly after a cosmic disruption occurs triggering a series of world-wide blackouts; after which millions of mysterious, reality-altering, Portal-like anomalies appear everywhere and anywhere across the planet. While many flee from the sentient objects, the real terror sets in as people are drawn toward and into them.
And that was just a few days before the atomic anniversaries of Hiroshima (Aug 6) and Nagasaki (Aug 9), the latter memorized by a bona-fide monolith right at the hypocenter (ground zero).
The Beirut explosion in effect “simulated” Nagasaki, something we more or less anticipated beforehand here on STR.
It was closely preceded by a sequence of events in July – especially when Sirius was heliacally rising in the Mayan land/Yucatan Peninsula (July 22-28) – collectively whispering “bear“…

So, Pleiades… Maya… monolith… bear… Contact…
…and other associations further underscored by the famous “Wow! signal” – a possible extraterrestrial intelligence detection by a radio telescope – happening in the exact same year as the release of the Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). (H/t reader James.)
The Wow! signal was a strong narrowband radio signal received on August 15, 1977, by Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio telescope in the United States, then used to support the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. The signal appeared to come from the direction of the constellation Sagittarius and bore the expected hallmarks of extraterrestrial origin.
Astronomer Jerry R. Ehman discovered the anomaly a few days later while reviewing the recorded data. He was so impressed by the result that he circled the reading on the computer printout, “6EQUJ5”, and wrote the comment “Wow!” on its side, leading to the event’s widely used name.
The entire signal sequence lasted for the full 72-second window during which Big Ear was able to observe it, but has not been detected since, despite several subsequent attempts by Ehman and others. Many hypotheses have been advanced on the origin of the emission, including natural and human-made sources, but none of them adequately explain the signal.
Although the Wow! signal had no detectable modulation—a technique used to transmit information over radio waves—it remains the strongest candidate for an alien radio transmission ever detected.
The date of the detection was August 15… This year closely coinciding with multiple, simultaneous “UFO/ET” signals.

Now let us return to the sunrise culmination of the Pleiades around the Ethiopian Mayan “end” date (12/21/2012) August 27, 2020.

It’s more compelling than before and the Force does feel stronger with it. Nevertheless it could use additional, corroborative syncs to make up for the fact that sunrise culmination is just not as traditional as midnight culmination.

The main villain in the movie? A bear. The “Demon Bear“…
…explicitly associated with native American tradition (you can’t miss it in this preview) just like Devil’s Tower’s native American association with bears, seven girls and the Pleiades!
