It was like witnessing an argument about an arcane procedural rule during a senior bingo night at a nursing home in purgatory. It was vicious, tasteless, witless, and (surprisingly, alas) painfully unfunny. […]

It was a grim reminder that there is nothing amusing about the slow but almost certainly inexorable decline of the United States into a senile gerontocracy whose basic organizing principles are numbers going up on a computer screen somewhere and mindless entertainment. The whole thing is as painfully sad as it is well deserved.

Election Day itself will be another beginning, as it’s been made pretty clear that there will be no peaceful transition. If Trump has to leave he will do so with a scorched earth policy and maximum chaos. As Trump himself predicted or promised last night, “this is not going to end well.” No, it’s not. We should prepare ourselves for what’s likely coming because it could get real ugly and dangerous.

America’s future hanging in the balance…

And the truth is, you must die before you can be reborn. The intensifying phoenix symbolism we’ve been seeing of late points to this as well (much more on that soon). America may well be dying this winter.

The end is the beginning and the beginning is the end. An existential crisis looming ahead…
